How Government Regulations Keep America in the Red (Our Big Government at Work)

I just want to tackle two issues to prove a point that can be related to many. The basis of my thesis is to question why our government finds it o.k. to tell us, the American people, how, when and where to spend our hard earned cash.

We live in a world where our government believes that they know what’s best for us whether it be for our health, education or financial status. They don’t just believe…they want control. Your money is no longer your money and your life style is no longer your life style. You will live the way they want or face federal penalties and/or prison time.

What is regulated? Here is an easier question, what is not regulated?

Both parties claim to be the good guy, but these regulations are placed deep within popular bills to assure they slide through without public opinion. Both parties are guilty of using this tactic.

Today I am going to use one in particular to make my point. Twaddle Magazine has not only been looking into, but created an online casino using affiliate programs but because the laws are so muddy surrounding the subject, we have taken the links down and hidden the website for a rainy day when maybe, just maybe our state governments wake up.
You agree that the government should regulate online gambling? So here is what you’re saying “I am weak and need the government to tell me when and where I can spend my money”.  It means you don’t trust your own judgment and you need congress to be the one to give you direction in life. The same congress you disapprove of.
I know this article seems personal, but after looking into the issue, it just made us realize how many thing the government regulates that could bring our country great wealth. The online gaming industry is a multi billion dollar industry that could easily be taxed. Even with the current laws in place, over 70% of all online gaming is still produced from the United States of America and because its illegal…our country isn’t receiving a dime.

The original bill passed in 2006 made it illegal for any and all states to allow online gaming. Just recently, congress re invented the bill and made it a state by state issue. Certain states like Nevada (go figure) have already passed in state legislation to make online gaming legal. Other states like New Jersey are currently in the process.
Need another example of laws keeping America in the red? Our current Marijuana laws waist more money than any other program in existence. Fighting a drug that has fewer deaths than cigarettes or liquor is simply a waist of the tax payer’s money when we could be taxing it and making money.
A piece of your paycheck right now is going to pay for thousands of “criminals” sitting in prison for possession of marijuana or attempting to sell. Right now a piece of your pay check is going toward fighting a war on a pointless drug that could be used to fight heavy drugs like heroin, crack, cocaine and drug use education. If people really sat down and did there homework on marijuana use…they would realize that it’s hard to even find statistics on deaths because so few occur directly related to the drug it self. So why is it still illegal? Ask your congress man/woman. Only they know the real answer.
We are not against laws that are directed toward complete stupidity. What I mean, is things that people should just know better but can’t seem to pull there heads out of there ass’s before killing someone. Example – marijuana should be legal yet driving stoned should not. Although a wreck at 2mph probably won’t hurt much…but still. Laws making it illegal to drive and text are good laws but now some states want to make it even illegal to drive and use hands free cell phone devices…this is just going way to far and once again a waist of the tax payers money to in force.
Abortion laws tell woman what they can and can’t do with there bodies, No child left behind lets the government dictate your child education. Gun laws because you can't tell the difference between a human and a deer. There are food laws that tell you what you can and can’t put in your body. Making porn is illegal cause the government should have the power to pick your choice of career. Hell, for that matter…our government technically even has the power to control your sex life…how? In some states oral sex and/or anal sex is considered illegal. Could you imagine hearing this “Freeze, take that penis out of your mouth and turn around”.
What’s my point? We have allowed our government to dictate every aspect of our lives as if were a bunch of idiots. Countries and states that tax online casinos, prostitution and marijuana are doing just fine. So much so that you don’t even hear about it on the news. Your argument?
I just described Nevada and it’s in dire financial straights. Well, it’s also a destination and that destination just so happens to be in the middle of the desert far from anything.
People will sin no matter how much you try to control them. I am just tired of picking up the tab for government programs, government jobs and prisoners when our country could be making money.

I know, I know...the people in congress, state senators, all those serving us in office and higher priest would be out raged...and to all those listed above, think of it this way..if you legalize it, you won't have to worry anymore about being caught stoned with your pants down..get it...pants down?
